Starlink Business Aviation prices have doubled

Starlink has doubled the price of its Business Jet plans. For those of us who already have Starlink on the aircraft, the new prices kick in from the next billing cycle starting on or after 7 August 2026.

So we’re talking about the full-size Business Jet terminal here. Aviation Mini is a separate product and isn’t affected.

Before the change, there were two plans:

(side note of semi-interest: the old Aviation Jet 20GB plan was renamed Business Aviation 25GB earlier this year, with the allowance increased to 25GB)

There are now three:

(side note of likely more interest: hardware and installation cost has gone up too, although that’s a one-off cost and varies depending on where you get it installed)

So some big price increases all around!

Regional vs Global

Starlink has divided the world into six areas (see maps below), and a Regional plan only works inside the region you have selected. You can change regions during the month, but if you cross the boundary the service stops as soon as you leave your selected region! It won’t switch you to Global Unlimited automatically – you’ll need to contact Starlink and change your region to get it working again.

Regional coverage also includes ocean inside the region, so the Mediterranean for example is covered as part of the Europe region.

So the basic lowdown is this:

Regional: Stay inside your selected region and the Regional plan works just fine. Cross the boundary and the Starlink stops!
Global: Pay through the nose for the Global plan and do whatever you like! (although there are still some countries where Starlink doesn’t work: China, Taiwan, Myanmar, Turkey, India).

What the regions actually look like

So here’s what Starlink’s six boundaries for the Regional plans look like:

Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Caucasus.

North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

South America.

Africa, the Middle East, and out to the Caspian.

Asia (and Russia, although service does not work there).

Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific).

Bottom line

If you stay within one region, you’re looking at $12,500 a month for unlimited. If you need worldwide coverage, it’s $20,000. The service itself hasn’t changed (it’s still VERY fast in the air), it’s just that we’re now all going to be paying a hell of a lot more to use it!
