{"id":7760,"date":"2019-08-14T23:04:02","date_gmt":"2019-08-15T03:04:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=7760"},"modified":"2019-08-14T23:04:02","modified_gmt":"2019-08-15T03:04:02","slug":"tsp-lite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/tsp-lite\/","title":{"rendered":"Good news from Australia &#8211; the TSP just got easier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re amongst the many international aircraft operators stung by the lengthy and document-heavy process to obtain an <a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/australia-tsp\/\">Australian Transport Security Program<\/a> approval, good news has reached OPSGROUP HQ &#8211;\u00a0 there is a new <strong>TSP-Lite<\/strong> version that you can apply for.<\/p>\n<p>The Dept. of Home Affairs has created what they call a &#8220;<em>Secretary-Issued TSP<\/em> &#8230; a new simplified way for operators who meet certain criteria to apply for a TSP&#8221;. They tell us &#8220;This application is much shorter than the standard TSP application&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h4>Do you qualify for the new TSP-Lite?<\/h4>\n<p>Yes, if you can answer YES to all of these questions (the first two are the big ones):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Your flights are private or charter operations and <strong>not operated on a fixed schedule or route<\/strong>; and<\/li>\n<li>You <strong>do not have temporary or permanent operational facilities<\/strong> in Australia; and<\/li>\n<li>You do not allow passengers or aircraft operator staff to enter the landside security zone (sterile area) of a security controlled airport; and<\/li>\n<li>You do not allow passengers or aircraft operator staff to mix with other passengers of prescribed air services in airside areas; and<\/li>\n<li>You do not transport persons in custody.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Dept also told us that &#8220;Under our legislation there is still the same maximum decision making time for a Secretary-Issued TSP, however in practice, the intent is that we will be able to review and approve these applications much faster.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crack open a slab of VB! This is great news.
