{"id":6161,"date":"2018-11-14T13:44:57","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T18:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=6161"},"modified":"2021-09-07T10:07:46","modified_gmt":"2021-09-07T14:07:46","slug":"seletar-launches-new-terminal-on-nov-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/seletar-launches-new-terminal-on-nov-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Seletar launches new terminal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">As WSSL\/Seletar prepares to open its new $80 million terminal on Nov 19, the authorities have <a href=\"http:\/\/ops.group\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/WSSL-AIC-03_2018.pdf\">announced<\/a> that WSSL is now a \u201cschedules facilitated&#8221; airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Don\u2019t panic &#8211; at least, not yet. This basically just means that because demand is now getting close to the airport&#8217;s capacity, all airline and charter flights must confirm their schedules with the airport in advance\u00a0 &#8211; BA\/GA flights don\u2019t need to do this.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>It does not mean that the airport has become slot coordinated<\/b>,\u00a0although that might happen at some point in the future if congestion continues to be a problem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">As for the new terminal, it looks like it will be a decent improvement on the old one&#8230;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BEFORE-AFTER.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-6162 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BEFORE-AFTER-1024x452.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"676\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BEFORE-AFTER-1024x452.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BEFORE-AFTER-300x132.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BEFORE-AFTER-768x339.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/BEFORE-AFTER-676x298.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The new facility &#8211; six times bigger than the old terminal &#8211; will be split in two, with one large section for airline flights, and another separate section dedicated for GA\/BA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Here&#8217;s a video of what the new terminal looks like!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Seletar gets a facelift!\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AauBkwGsdIE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The idea is to free up capacity at WSSS\/Singapore by <strong>moving all scheduled turboprop flights to WSSL\/Seletar<\/strong> when the new terminal opens. At the moment, the only airline that falls into this category is Malaysia&#8217;s Firefly &#8211; which currently operates 20 daily flights at WSSS &#8211; to and from WMSA\/Subang, WMKI\/Ipoh and WMKD\/Kuantan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Important to note &#8211; <b>all BA\/GA traffic must switch to using the new terminal when it opens on Nov 19 at midnight local time.<\/b> Jet Aviation have provided <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/WSSL-new-terminal.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a handy printout<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>which tells you all you need to know about using the new terminal.
