This came into effect on 11OCT18 and will be reflected in the 08NOV18 AIP update. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.navcanada.ca\/EN\/products-and-services\/Documents\/AIP\/Current\/part_5_aic\/5aic_eng_2018_25.pdf#top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Refer AIC 25\/18<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6007\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/SPEED.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"688\" height=\"127\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/SPEED.png 688w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/SPEED-300x55.png 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/SPEED-676x125.png 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 688px) 100vw, 688px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s been over a year and a half since NavCanada suspended it&#8217;s <strong>Climb\/Descend via SID<\/strong>\u00a0phraseology, adding a complication for pilots that regularly cross the border from USA to Canada and v.v. It initially trialed then quickly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ainonline.com\/aviation-news\/business-aviation\/2017-06-05\/navcanada-suspends-climb\/descend-clearances\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">suspended<\/a>\u00a0them <em>\u201cout of concern over altitude deviations we were seeing in the system and the unforeseen large increase in workload as a result. We are continuing to communicate with airlines, aircraft operators and our employees as we revert to the phraseology rules that were in place prior to this change.\u200b\u201d<\/em> We understand this phraseology has now been officially put in the trash and wont be returning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>CYYZ\/Toronto Pearson Airport<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>There are new <strong>nighttime RNAV approaches<\/strong> starting in <strong>CYYZ\/Toronto Pearson<\/strong> from 08NOV18. These RNAV (GNSS) X instrument approach procedures are for night-time ops between 0030L-0630L on runways 5\/6L\/6R\/23\/24L\/24R. The procedures are designed to minimize the noise footprint. The ATIS will advertise these as the primary approach type when they are active. Pilots can expect to be cleared directly to the initial approach waypoint, then subsequently cleared for the approach including the appropriate transition. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.navcanada.ca\/EN\/products-and-services\/Documents\/AIP\/Current\/part_5_aic\/5aic_eng_2018_28.pdf#top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Refer AIC 28\/18<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6008\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/RNAV.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/RNAV.png 397w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/RNAV-300x220.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Slots are currently required for all flights between 0030-0630 local time. The airport authority was planning to make slots mandatory for all GA\/BA flights H24 from Nov 17 onwards, but this will now be delayed to some time in early 2019.
