{"id":588,"date":"2016-05-25T03:17:30","date_gmt":"2016-05-25T07:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=588"},"modified":"2016-05-25T03:19:08","modified_gmt":"2016-05-25T07:19:08","slug":"australia-gps-requirements-relaxed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/australia-gps-requirements-relaxed\/","title":{"rendered":"Australia: GPS requirements relaxed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The implementation day for Australia switching off Navaids remains the same: <strong>26MAY2016<\/strong>, but the GPS requirements are relaxed &#8211; a little &#8211; especially for foreign private operators.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you&#8217;re Australia based:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You&#8217;ll have seen this coming and will already be RNP1\/2 compliant. CASA has no exceptions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you&#8217;re a Foreign Operator and have RNP1\/2:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After 26MAY2016, if you&#8217;re RNP1\/2 compliant,\u00a0put it in the Flight Plan (read on), and that&#8217;s about it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you&#8217;re a Foreign Operator and\u00a0you don&#8217;t have RNP1\/2:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia has a <strong>Two Year Transition<\/strong>\u00a0for Foreign Operators after 26MAY<\/li>\n<li>An &#8220;Acceptable Means of Compliance&#8221; is contained in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislation.gov.au\/Details\/F2016L00059\">CASA EX06\/16<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Notify CASA in advance using Form &#8220;Notification to operate aircraft on RNP 2 routes and\/or RNP 1 procedures using GNSS based RNAV 1 &amp; RNAV 2&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>If you are a <strong>non-commercial operator<\/strong> &#8211; ie. operating a Private flight, then compliance is not mandatory.
