Word from handlers we have spoken to on the ground confirm it\u2019s <strong>open for business<\/strong> (for the most part).<\/p>\n<p>Here is the info we have so far:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ICAO code: <strong>HESX<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>IATA code: <strong>SPX<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>PCN: <strong>87<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Runway dimensions: <strong>3650M x 60M<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The airport is open from <strong>Sunrise to Sunset<\/strong>. <strong><em>No night lighting installed <\/em><\/strong>as yet.<\/li>\n<li>There is <strong>no CIQ<\/strong> yet. But it\u2019s coming soon \u2013 so it\u2019s not an airport of entry presently.<\/li>\n<li>Airport features a general and business aviation terminal, with its own dedicated CIQ unit. <strong>The VIP terminal and Royal Lounge are open. A complete fleet of GSE is in place.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Jet A1 Fuel is available<\/strong> via Misr Petroleum Company tankers. No Hydrant System yet.<\/li>\n<li>Airport features <strong>8 parking stands<\/strong> currently.<\/li>\n<li>Most likely the airport will be <strong>slot coordinated<\/strong> preserving control on capacity until the new terminals launch.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Night stop parking is accepted<\/strong> with a requirement to re-position aircraft to parking bays after passengers disembark.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some extra info from the local agent:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;The airport has already launched, but not in it&#8217;s full capacity as the contracted constructor is still finishing up the exteriors. In addition the check-in software has not been installed, meaning commercial schedule flights haven&#8217;t started yet. However <strong>the airport is accepting business and general aviation flights during opening hours and with pre-notification of 48 hours<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4991\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-19-at-19.20.04-300x168.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-19-at-19.20.04-300x168.png 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-19-at-19.20.04-768x430.png 768w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-19-at-19.20.04-1024x574.png 1024w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-19-at-19.20.04-676x379.png 676w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-19-at-19.20.04.png 1242w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Parking spots are well equipped and overnight parking is possible. The airport is only seeing a handful of movements at present and is not busy.<\/p>\n<p>The airport is best suited for those wishing to visit Cairo West or Giza City with the expected launch of commercial flights on 30 June.<\/p>\n<p>Have you landed there yet?
