Corporate operators watch out; London basin airports of EGGW\/Luton, EGSS\/Stansted, EGKK\/Gatwick, EGLL\/Heathrow, EGKB\/Biggin Hill, EGWU\/Northolt, EGLF\/Farnborough and EGTK\/Oxford airports are now effectively closed or restricted for overnight flights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EGGW\/Luton<\/strong> is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.signatureflight.com\/events\/london-luton-airport-temporary-noise-closures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">biggest hit with a curfew this summer<\/a>: from 1 June to 30 September, arrivals\/departures will be prohibited between 23-7 local time each night.<\/p>\n<p>Over at\u00a0<strong>EGSS\/Stansted<\/strong>, where local authorities have already reduced the number of night-time slots for GA\/BA to just 10 per week, <a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/696dbac2_ae20_4f07_9a67_daca55aec7bc.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new noise restrictions<\/a> have also been introduced which mean that aircraft rated above QC1 are unlikely to receive slot approval at all during the night period:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4843\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-14.59.31-1024x260.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"676\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-14.59.31-1024x260.png 1024w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-14.59.31-300x76.png 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-14.59.31-768x195.png 768w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Screen-Shot-2018-06-05-at-14.59.31-676x172.png 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 676px) 100vw, 676px\" \/><\/p>\n<h5><strong>Who&#8217;s to blame?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Local airlines, mainly the low-cost ones. Late arrivals have used up much of the cumulative noise footprint at both airports.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>So, what\u2019s left?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EGMC\/Southend<\/strong> (40 miles away) &amp; <strong>EGBB\/Birmingham<\/strong> (115 miles away) are the <strong>only<\/strong> airports with <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>no restrictions<\/strong><\/span> (thus far).<\/li>\n<li><strong>EGLL\/Heathrow<\/strong> &amp; <strong>EGGK\/Gatwick<\/strong>: Pretty much a no-go zone for business aviation these days<\/li>\n<li><strong>EGLC\/London City<\/strong>: closed from 1030pm to 0630am<\/li>\n<li><strong>EGWU\/Northolt<\/strong>: closed from 8pm to 8am on weekdays<\/li>\n<li><strong>EGLF\/Farnborough<\/strong>: closed from 10pm to 7am on weekdays<\/li>\n<li><strong>EGKB\/Biggin Hill<\/strong>: closed from 11pm to 6.30am on weekdays, and 10pm to 8am on weekends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><strong>Who&#8217;s most affected?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Transatlantic crossings that plan to arrive in London late at night (after a morning departure from the US) or late-night London departures.
