{"id":3373,"date":"2024-04-15T07:40:42","date_gmt":"2024-04-15T11:40:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=3373"},"modified":"2024-04-15T10:06:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T14:06:55","slug":"china-taiwan-airway-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/china-taiwan-airway-dispute\/","title":{"rendered":"China-Taiwan M503 Airway Dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">China has cancelled all concessions previously made to Taiwan regarding the<strong> M503 airway<\/strong> that runs along the ZSHA\/Shanghai and RCAA\/Taipei FIR boundary.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">What does this mean in practice?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>China have moved the airway 6nm back towards the FIR boundary.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>They have started allowing eastbound flights on the the W122 and W123 connecting routes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So now, of all these routes, the only one that is not bi-directional is W121 (westbound only).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-25069\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/M503-1024x696.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"696\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/M503-1024x696.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/M503-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/M503-768x522.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/M503-1536x1044.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/M503-2048x1392.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Taiwan aren\u2019t happy, same argument as before:<\/strong> they say the airway is too close to existing routes that serve airports in outlying groups of Taiwan-controlled islands, and thus poses a risk to safety.
