Parking at airports in the region will be limited &#8211; make sure you reserve your spot asap!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-29485\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/WEF-2026-1024x607.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"607\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/WEF-2026-1024x607.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/WEF-2026-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/WEF-2026-768x455.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/WEF-2026-1536x910.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/WEF-2026-2048x1214.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Here&#8217;s what to expect at the airports:<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LSGG\/Geneva<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">BizAv flights will need <strong>parking permission<\/strong> from Jan 16-26 due to congestion.<\/li>\n<li>Airport operates roughly 0600-2200 local time for BizAv. Arrivals outside these hours need prior approval and are not guaranteed, especially during WEF. <strong>If you arrive late without approval, expect a diversion.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Repositioning from\u00a0<strong>LSGG to LSMD will not be allowed <\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0aircraft would have to land and depart directly from LSMD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LSZH\/Zurich<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Maximum 2 hour ground time<\/strong> for BizAv without parking permission (so drop-and-go\u2019s are fine, as long as you stay within that 2 hour window).<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">You will <strong>not be able to use LSZH as an alternate<\/strong> from Jan 16-24.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Airport operates from 0600-2200 local time daily, and overtime is not available &#8211; <strong>make sure you land before closing time<\/strong> or you\u2019ll get diverted to another airport.<\/li>\n<li>Customs clearance is available at the FBO for <strong>up to 24 pax.<\/strong> Any more than that and they will need to clear through the main pax terminal instead.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Repositioning from\u00a0<strong>LSZH to LSMD will not be allowed <\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0aircraft would have to land and depart directly from LSMD.<\/li>\n<li>For handling, email Jet Aviation FBO at <a href=\"mailto:vip.zrh@jetaviation.ch\">vip.zrh@jetaviation.ch<\/a>, or CAT Air Service at <a href=\"mailto:info@cat-airservice.com\">info@cat-airservice.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LSMD\/Dubendorf<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Located in downtown Zurich. Normally a military airfield, but opens to civilian traffic each year for the Forum.<strong> BizAv flights can only operate here during this period if pax are heading to the WEF.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>During the event, they are open from 0700-2100 local time weekdays, and 0900-2000 on weekends. No overtime available.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Slots not required, but <strong>PPR<\/strong> <b>is required.<\/b><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Customs clearance is provided in the military terminal building.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">For handling, email the airport on: <span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"mailto:aircraft.handling@topmotion.ch\">aircraft.handling@topmotion.ch<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/AIR_CREW_GUIDE_World-Economic-Forum-2026-1.pdf\">Here<\/a> is the 2026 pilot guide for operating at LSMD, it has all the information from the Swiss airforce which is applicable for this years event.<\/li>\n<li><em><strong><span style=\"background-color: #f2f2f0;\">Operator report: <\/span><\/strong><span style=\"background-color: #f2f2f0;\">A few years ago, several operators were issued SAFA findings at LSMD, due to the fact that the ILS GS is 4.5\u00b0, which qualified for a steep approach in their AFMs, which they did not have approval for. My info shows the ILS is still 4.5\u00b0 and the RNP is 4.4\u00b0. Operators planning on using Dubendorf may want to check this out.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LSZR\/St Gallen-Altenrhein<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Could be a good option &#8211; if you&#8217;re small enough to cope with their <strong>4774ft runway!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Opening hours: 0630-1200 and 1330-2100 local time Mon-Fri, 0730-1200 and 1330-2000 Sat, 1000-1200 and 1330-2000 Sun.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The standard fire cover is Cat 2<\/strong>, but they can provide up to Cat 6 for an extra fee.<\/li>\n<li>No slots or PPR are required.<\/li>\n<li>Parking is available, hangar might be available on request (up to G650\/GLEX etc).<\/li>\n<li>For handling, contact the FBO at <a href=\"mailto:groundservices@peoples.ch\">groundservices@peoples.ch<\/a><\/li>\n<li>For more ops info check out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoples.ch\/business-aviation\/facts-figures-lszr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this page.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LSZS\/Samedan<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">First things first, this is a <strong>VFR airport<\/strong> with some IFR traffic. Pilots heading here need to take <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadin-airport.ch\/en\/pilots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this test<\/a> first. If you haven&#8217;t flown in here before, now might not be the best time to give it a try, because&#8230;<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">For the WEF, the <strong>airspace around Davos (which includes LSZS airport) will be restricted:<\/strong> there are special procedures for arrivals and departures, and all flights need <strong>PPR.<\/strong> The airport has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadin-airport.ch\/en\/wef-davos-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this briefing<\/a> which includes everything you need to know.<\/li>\n<li>Open from 0800 local time until &#8220;the end of evening civil twilight&#8221; &#8211; as they beautifully put it. Customs clearance is available during these times.<\/li>\n<li>For handling, contact the airport at <a href=\"mailto:handling@engadin-airport.ch\">handling@engadin-airport.ch<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">EDNY\/Friedrichshafen<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Open 0600-2200 local time.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>No slots or PPR required<\/strong> (although in previous years they introduced PPR for stays of more than 90 minutes, so that might happen again).<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Parking available, but expect to be repositioned for longer parking and servicing.<\/li>\n<li>For handling, email the local agent at <a href=\"mailto:fdhops@aviation-services.net\">fdhops@aviation-services.net<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 class=\"p1\">Permits<\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\">Landing permits are not required for private BizAv flights to Switzerland or Germany. You\u2019ll only need a landing permit if you\u2019re operating a charter flight on an aircraft not registered in the EU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">For Switzerland charter flight permits, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bazl.admin.ch\/bazl\/en\/home\/flugbetrieb\/traffic-rights\/non-eu-efta-air-carriers---charter-flights.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">read this guidance<\/a> and email the authorities direct at <a href=\"mailto:trafficrights@bazl.admin.ch\">trafficrights@bazl.admin.ch<\/a>.
