From the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur to Corsica and key inland airports, space is tight. But there are still some options if you know where to look. Here\u2019s what we\u2019ve found so far.<\/p>\n<h6><strong>Common Themes Across France<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Plan ahead.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Most airports require advance notice for parking and handling &#8211; anywhere from 24 to 72 hours &#8211; usually via <a href=\"https:\/\/cy.myhandlingsoftware.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MyHandling<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Customs and Gendec:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> For international arrivals, most airports <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">expect crew and pax lists to be submitted 24 hours ahead, even for Schengen flights.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Slots or PPR?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It depends. Some airports like <\/span>LFML\/Marseille<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are slot- and PPR-free but limited by physical stand space. Others have strict PPR or slot rules, and some impose restrictions based on Schengen\/non-Schengen status.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nothing is guaranteed.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Even with advance requests, parking isn\u2019t always available &#8211; especially for longer stays. At <\/span>LFMN\/Nice, approval often comes just 7 days out. LFML\/Marseille has only a few stands for 48h+ parking, and LFKF\/Figari<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> doesn\u2019t allow overnight stays at all.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-28221\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Southern-France-and-Corsica-Map.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<h5>Riviera Airports &#8211; Busy, Tight But Accessible<\/h5>\n<h4>LFMN\/Nice<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nice has been very busy since May, and according to local FBOs, things aren\u2019t getting any easier. If you&#8217;re planning to stay on the ground for more than 4 hours, expect a bit of a process. The <\/span>airport is fully slot-controlled<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><b>parking only gets confirmed once airport authorities approve your request &#8211; often just 7 days out<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 Submitting a full schedule early gives you the best shot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Slot tolerance is tight (+\/\u201310 min arrival, \u201310\/+15 min departure)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and even small schedule changes can mean losing both slots and parking. Once confirmed, the <\/span>slot ID needs to be in Field 18 of your FPL.<\/p>\n<p><b>APU use is also limited to just 10 minutes before TSAT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and only after towing. Until then, it\u2019s ground power only. But several OPSGROUP members have reported issues with GPUs and overheating, especially in high temps. Airline traffic takes priority, and BizAv can end up waiting. <\/span>Crews must be onboard during refueling<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so best to show up early before ETD just in case. The airport has strict aircraft restrictions: <\/span><b>no jets over 35T MTOW, and no turboprops over 22T<\/b>. The <\/span>airport and customs are both H24<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <strong>There\u2019s <\/strong><\/span><strong>no need for slots or PPR, and short-turn parking is usually available<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> without much hassle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That said, longer stays are tricky &#8211; <\/span><b>only four stands are available for 48h+<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and they fill up quickly on a first-come, first-served basis. Customs hours are slightly different &#8211; available daily from 0800-1800 LT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a joint civil-military airport, LFTH has additional restrictions: according to the local FBO, <\/span>flights before 0900 LT are currently not allowed due to military operations.<\/p>\n<p><b>FBO contacts:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toulon Airport Handling: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:fbo@toulon-hyeres.aeroport.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fbo@toulon-hyeres.aeroport.fr<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jetex: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:france@jetex.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">france@jetex.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>LFTZ\/La Mole Saint-Tropez<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The airport has restricted-use status, so only operators with special approval can use it. <\/span><b>Pilots must meet specific training requirements <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">depending on the aircraft.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&#8217;re thinking about flying into LFTZ, <strong>be ready for a bit of admin.<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sainttropez.aeroport.fr\/en\/pilots-companies\/flying-in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">airport website<\/a> and their <a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/AIP-LFTZ.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AIP<\/a> explain exactly what\u2019s needed &#8211; from how to request access to the paperwork and pilot qualifications required.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>PPR is required and operations are permitted daily 0800-1900 LT in summer, with extensions available until sunset. While the airport can get busy at times, especially in peak summer weeks, <strong>it\u2019s still worth considering if coastal airports are full. <\/strong><\/span>All non-based BizAv must request PPR at least 72 hours in advance. Handling is charged in full if cancelled less than 3 days before arrival and not charged if cancelled earlier.<\/p>\n<p><b>FBO contact: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avia VIP: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:lfmt@aviavip.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lfmt@aviavip.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>LFTW\/Nimes<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Nimes is often overlooked, but can be a smart alternative if you plan ahead.<\/strong> The <\/span>airport operates daily until 2000 LT<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. ATC is available until 1900 LT on weekdays and until 1600 LT on weekends. CIQ services are available daily from 0900-1800 LT.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FBO contact: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jetex: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:france@jetex.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">france@jetex.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>LFMP\/Perpignan<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Perpignan is another inland option worth considering this summer.<\/strong> Local FBO confirms that parking is currently not congested and that the airport can accommodate larger bizjet like the G650. Parking availability is confirmed once a full schedule is submitted.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1474\">FBO contact:<\/strong> G-OPS: <a class=\"cursor-pointer\" href=\"mailto:executive@g-ops.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-start=\"1482\" data-end=\"1501\">executive@g-ops.com<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>LFMV\/Avignon<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Avignon gives operators a welcome level of flexibility during the peak season. <\/span><b>No PPR is required<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The airport is open Mon-Fri from 0700-2130 LT, Sat until 1900 LT, and Sun from 0800-2000 LT. Extensions must be requested by 1600 LT the day before. Slots are required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FBO contacts:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Airport Handling: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:operations@aeroportducastellet.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">operations@aeroportducastellet.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jetex: <\/span><a href=\"mailto:france@jetex.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">france@jetex.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Corsica &#8211; Few Airports, Fewer Options<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BizAv parking on Corsica is tricky during the summer too. <\/span><b>LFKF\/Figari is the most restrictive option with only quick turnarounds allowed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and no long-term parking. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>LFKB\/Bastia<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> may offer a bit more flexibility with some limits, but no PPR is required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The best recommendation from local handlers goes to <b>LFKJ\/Ajaccio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Parking is more feasible here and while a slot and PPR are mandatory, availability is currently good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>FBO contact (covers LFKF, LFKB, and LFKJ): <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">G-OPS: <u><a href=\"mailto:executive@g-ops.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">executive@g-ops.com<\/a><\/u>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5>Looking Inland &#8211; Reliable Summer Parking<\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the Riviera is full, heading inland could be a smart move. <\/span><b>LFLL\/Lyon Saint-Exupery<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> usually has parking available, even during peak summer, and can handle larger jets with ease. Just be aware of night noise restrictions between 2200-0600 LT for louder aircraft. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearby <\/span><b>LFLY\/Lyon Bron<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is smaller but also reports good availability for BizAv during the summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Further south, <strong>LFLS\/Grenoble<\/strong> may be the most straightforward of the three. The airport is open daily from 0900-1800 LT, and services like handling, customs, and fuel are all available during this window. We&#8217;ve had several reports over the years from members who have had this flagged on SAFA ramp checks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Common ones to watch out for:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>LFTH\/Toulon<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 can\u2019t be used as alternate without PPR.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>LFMD\/Cannes<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 can\u2019t be used as alternate except for flights to LFTZ\/La Mole.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><strong>LFMQ\/Le Castellet<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 this sometimes gets used as an alternate for LFMN\/Nice and LFML\/Marseille.
