{"id":277,"date":"2016-02-10T00:09:34","date_gmt":"2016-02-10T05:09:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=277"},"modified":"2016-02-10T00:10:48","modified_gmt":"2016-02-10T05:10:48","slug":"a-different-map-winter-storm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/a-different-map-winter-storm\/","title":{"rendered":"A different map: Winter Storm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apart from the routine Flight Operations that we support at the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/fsbureau.org\">Flight Service Bureau<\/a><\/strong>, we spend a fair bit of time building new things. \u00a0Much of time, those things involve maps, and so we keep our eyes out for new\u00a0ideas &#8230; and we especially liked this graphic presentation of US Winter Storm Jonas at the end of January 2016.<\/p>\n<p>We took the original and slowed it down a little, but what you&#8217;ll see here is\u00a0forecast data from NOAA\u2019s High Resolution Rapid Refresh Model to animate the storm\u2019s arrival in the Mid-Atlantic.
