{"id":25241,"date":"2024-05-07T09:29:27","date_gmt":"2024-05-07T13:29:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=25241"},"modified":"2024-05-21T09:08:51","modified_gmt":"2024-05-21T13:08:51","slug":"argentina-overflight-permits-now-required","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/argentina-overflight-permits-now-required\/","title":{"rendered":"Argentina: Overflight Permits Now Required"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>Key Points<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Effective March 13, all foreign aircraft now need an overflight permit when transiting Argentinian airspace.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>There\u2019s been no change to landing permit requirements: private flights don\u2019t need one, all other flights do (including tech stops).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>AI is still not great at making images with planes or handshakes in them \ud83d\ude02<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/dashboard\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Argentina-SUP-32-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AIP SUP 32\/2024<\/a> has been published with all the new requirements \u2013 but here\u2019s a quick summary of what you need to know.<\/p>\n<h4>Airspace Affected<\/h4>\n<p>This change applies to <strong>all Argentinian airspace<\/strong>, namely the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SAVF\/Comodoro Rivadavia FIR<\/li>\n<li>SAEF\/Ezeiza FIR<\/li>\n<li>SACF\/Cordoba FIR<\/li>\n<li>SARR\/Resisitencia FIR<\/li>\n<li>SAMF\/Mendoza FIR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-25245\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Map.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Map.png 779w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Map-300x214.png 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Map-768x548.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>How to apply<\/h4>\n<p>You\u2019ll need to provide at least<strong> 72 hours\u2019<\/strong> notice.<\/p>\n<p>Send your application to the National Administration of Civil Aviation (ANAC)\u2019s AFTN address SABAYAYX, and via email to <a href=\"mailto:ovf@anac.gob.ar\">ovf@anac.gob.ar<\/a> (also cc. in <a href=\"mailto:interaerodromosbis@gmail.com\">interaerodromosbis@gmail.com<\/a>). For emails, use the subject line \u2018Application for Overflying the Argentine Territory.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>If you need to give ANAC a call, you can also reach them on +54 11 5941 3000.<\/p>\n<p>Private operators will need to provide copies of two documents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Certificate of airworthiness<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Proof of insurance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Commercial operators also need to provide an air operator certificate.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Important:<\/strong><\/span> It may sound obvious, but they are quite specific about it. Don\u2019t assume you have been granted a permit until you have specifically heard back from them.<\/p>\n<h4>Exemptions to the 72-hour rule<\/h4>\n<p>You can only get around this if you are operating an <strong>essential<\/strong> <strong>flight.<\/strong> This basically means SAR, humanitarian, air ambulance or firefighting ops.<\/p>\n<h4>What about landing permits?<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Nothing has changed!<\/strong>\u00a0Private flights don\u2019t need one \u2013 but make sure you include your company name, physical address and contact info (tel, email, AFTN etc) in the RMKS section of your flight plans.<\/p>\n<p>All other flights (including tech stops) must obtain one.<\/p>\n<h4>Need help with other permits?<\/h4>\n<p>OPSGROUP members have access to the Permit Helper, found under \u2018Apps\u2019 in your Member\u2019s Dashboard.
