{"id":23685,"date":"2023-10-15T23:24:01","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T03:24:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=23685"},"modified":"2023-10-18T00:01:04","modified_gmt":"2023-10-18T04:01:04","slug":"bizav-clampdown-at-amsterdam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/bizav-clampdown-at-amsterdam\/","title":{"rendered":"Bizav Clampdown at Amsterdam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>From March 2024, the number of slots available for GA\/BA at EHAM\/Amsterdam Schiphol will almost halve.<\/strong> And apparently, it\u2019s just the tip of the iceberg &#8211; the ultimate goal is for them to be banned altogether.<\/p>\n<p>Just like with Portugal&#8217;s new Bizav <a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/portugal-punishment-tax\/\">Punishment Tax<\/a>, the small jets are getting the big heat &#8211; often unfairly.<\/p>\n<h4>Go Away, GA\u2026<\/h4>\n<p>The news came out in the airport\u2019s latest <a href=\"https:\/\/slotcoordination.nl\/capacity-declaration-ams-s24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">capacity declaration<\/a> \u2013 the maximum number of \u2018small business aviation\u2019 flights will be <strong>capped<\/strong> at 12,000 next year (down from 17,000).<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/news.schiphol.com\/schiphol-to-be-quieter-cleaner-and-better-night-closure-ban-on-private-jets-and-people-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">master plan<\/a> that Schiphol announced back in April to make the airport \u2018quieter, cleaner and better.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The biggest news is that a <strong>complete ban on business aviation<\/strong> is planned from 2025. And until then, GA\/BA will increasingly feel the squeeze.<\/p>\n<h4>So, what happens after the ban?<\/h4>\n<p>With no more slots available to business jets, operators will need to look elsewhere. Here are the <strong>current<\/strong> <strong>closest alternatives<\/strong> with customs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>EHRD\/Rotterdam<\/strong> (24nm) &#8211; For handling, contact: Jet Aviation FBO, rtmfbo@jetaviation.com<\/li>\n<li><strong>EHEH\/Eindhoven<\/strong> (56nm) &#8211; For handling, contact: Viggo Eindhoven, info@viggo.eu<\/li>\n<li><strong>EHGG\/Groningen<\/strong> (82nm) &#8211; For handling, contact:\u00a0 Ground Ace, info@groundace.eu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Across the border, don&#8217;t forget about\u00a0<strong>EBBR\/Brussels<\/strong> either.<\/p>\n<h4>Look out for other restrictions too<\/h4>\n<p><strong>1. Night curfew:<\/strong>\u00a0The same plan includes banning all aircraft movements between midnight and 6am (5am for departures). No new runway:<\/strong> The airport has decided that the existing six runways should just about cover it. Plans have officially been scrapped for lucky number seven \u2013 a twin sister for Kaagbaan (yes, the runways have names!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Noisy rides:<\/strong>\u00a0From this coming Summer, Schiphol has announced that <a href=\"https:\/\/slotcoordination.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/AMS-Capacity-Declaration-Summer-2024-version-1.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eighty-seven aircraft types<\/a> will no longer be welcome. Airport fees:<\/strong>\u00a0The quieter and cleaner your ride, the cheaper the airport fees will be moving forward. Operators using louder and more polluting aircraft will pay up to five times as much.<\/p>\n<h4>I want to go to Schiphol anyway<\/h4>\n<p>The doors haven\u2019t quite closed on business aviation just yet.
