{"id":23046,"date":"2023-08-14T11:05:55","date_gmt":"2023-08-14T15:05:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/?p=23046"},"modified":"2023-08-14T11:05:55","modified_gmt":"2023-08-14T15:05:55","slug":"shanghai-zsss-closed-non-sched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/shanghai-zsss-closed-non-sched\/","title":{"rendered":"Shanghai: ZSSS closed to non-sched traffic"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6><strong>Key Points<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li>You won&#8217;t find it in the Notams, but <strong>ZSSS\/Hongqiao<\/strong> (one of Shanghai\u2019s two international airports) <strong>will not accept non-scheduled international flights<\/strong> for the next four to six months.<\/li>\n<li>This includes both private and commercial operators, and is due to FBO renovations.<\/li>\n<li>Operators looking to clear customs will need to use <strong>ZSPD\/Pudong<\/strong> instead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>FBO Works at Honqiao<\/h4>\n<p>On August 1, official notification was published that the Hongqiao FBO would be closed for major renovation \u2013<strong> including the customs channel.<\/strong> You can read that <a href=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/\u516c\u52a1\u673a\u56fd\u964581\u4e1c\u79fb\u52a8\u5458.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a> (in Mandarin).<\/p>\n<p>All non-scheduled international flights now need to use the other Shanghai airport, <strong>ZSPD\/Pudong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>No dates are provided for when things at ZSSS will get back to normal. We reached out and have been advised that it could be up to <strong>six months<\/strong> before non-scheduled international flights will be welcome again. They can still land at ZSSS. Asides from the FBO being shut, there is little impact. Instead, a VIP room is being used as a replacement facility. Obviously, there will be no customs available.<\/p>\n<p>Local agents advise there is <strong>no change<\/strong> to existing procedures or parking.<\/p>\n<h4>ZSPD\/Pudong<\/h4>\n<p>For international non-scheduled flights then, <strong>ZSPD\/Pudong<\/strong> will be the only Shanghai option for the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>This maybe especially unusual for operators who commonly arrive over the city from the west.<\/p>\n<p>A browse of the <strong>Airport Spy reports<\/strong> submitted by OPSGROUP members are mostly positive. We\u2019d welcome some new ones though, and so if you have been there lately, we\u2019d love to hear from you.
