But then we realised the &#8216;problem&#8217; with KTEB is that it&#8217;s very, very close to a lot of other bigger airports&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>So if you operate into <strong>KEWR\/Newark, KLGA\/La Guardia or KJFK\/New York Kennedy<\/strong> then we reckon it&#8217;s worth a read too. Because you might not realise what is going on underneath you and having an idea of the lay of the land (so to speak) is useful for that old SA we all harp on about&#8230;<\/p>\n<h4>So Teterboro is back in rehab?<\/h4>\n<p>They have a whole 11 months of works (to April 2023) planned for<strong> runway 06\/24.<\/strong> Mostly it means closures, and these are pretty much all planned over night and on weekends.<\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><b>Overnight closure timings:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 22:30 &#8211; 06:30<\/li>\n<li>Monday 22:30 &#8211; 08:30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><\/b><b>Weekend Runway closure times and dates:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday 22:00 &#8211; Sunday 12:00 (until August 31)<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 12:01 &#8211; Sunday 23:59 (until November 30)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><\/b><b>Weekend Airport closure times and dates:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friday 22:00 &#8211; Sunday 12:00 (July 1 until August 31)<\/li>\n<li>Sunday 12:01 &#8211; Sunday 23:59 (October 1 to November 30)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_18632\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18632\" class=\"wp-image-18632 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_1002-2048x1139-1-1024x570.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"570\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_1002-2048x1139-1-1024x570.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_1002-2048x1139-1-300x167.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_1002-2048x1139-1-768x427.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_1002-2048x1139-1-1536x854.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ops.group\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/IMG_1002-2048x1139-1.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-18632\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The TUG TEB WIP Times<\/p><\/div>\n<p>But it is more than just the closures that you need to think about if you operate in here.<\/p>\n<h4>Arrival Stuff<\/h4>\n<p><b>Northerly Flow:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Depending on wind and weather, and what\u2019s happening at KEWR\/Newark you can usually expect an ILS 6 with a Circle to Rwy 1 or the RNAV (GPS) X Rwy 6<\/p>\n<p>They are trying to bring in lateral and vertical guidance for Rwy 1. Watch this space. The circle to Rwy 1 is a nasty little thing so check out their guidance on it.<\/p>\n<h4>Departure Stuff<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Southerly Flow<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If its a southerly flow you can expect the Teterboro 4 SID which means delays.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Because they try to keep a <strong>10nm gap between KEWR\/Newark 22L arrivals and KTEB 19 departures.\u00a0<\/strong>Which is why there is also the<strong> Dalton 2 visual departure<\/strong> (which only needs a 5nm gap).<\/p>\n<h4>Expect an infinite delay&#8230;<\/h4>\n<p>Well, that sounds bad. It doesn\u2019t actually necessarily mean a lengthy delay though, particularly if you can accept the Dalton 2. The Dalton 2 keeps you down at 1,300\u2019 and 180 knots in VFR until clear of all the KEWR traffic then you can expect a transition to an IFR clearance.<\/p>\n<h4>There is a meeting!<\/h4>\n<p>Yep, there is, on June 15 at 10:00 am EST. Organised through the<a href=\"https:\/\/teterborousersgroup.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Teterboro Users Group (TUG)<\/a> which we strongly recommend you getting yourself in on if you do operate here and aren\u2019t already in on it.<\/p>\n<h4>What else is going on down there though?<\/h4>\n<p>Well, like we mentioned, you&#8217;ve got <strong>several major international airports<\/strong> to consider as well, and some smaller executive airports and a military base.
