On Dec 12, the US FAA issued a statement authorizing this, which means aviation professionals can take the vaccine <strong>without risking losing their medical certificates<\/strong>. The FAA say you will need to <strong>wait 48 hours after each dose before you can operate.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All future vaccines will need a<strong> separate approval<\/strong> &#8211; the Pfizer one is the only one you can take at this stage.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Now that the Pfizer vaccine has been approved by the FDA, a huge supply chain effort is underway to get the vaccine ready for use as soon as possible. With crew likely to be carrying shipments of the vaccine, the FAA has issued\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/other_visit\/aviation_industry\/airline_operators\/airline_safety\/safo\/all_safos\/media\/2020\/SAFO20017.pdf\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">new safety alert<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for the <\/span><b>carriage of dry ice<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In big quantities this can be<\/span> hazardous to crew <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and cause carbon dioxide poisoning if things aren&#8217;t handled properly. It is also important to be aware of <\/span>manufacturer limits <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on how much you can carry.
